Nydia Sanchez Weathers was born and raised in Laredo. She graduated from United High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1990. Nydia continued her studies at the University of Texas Health Science Center, School of Dental Hygiene, graduating with honors in 1994. She has been a Registered Dental Hygienist at Gentle Family Dentistry of Laredo for 30 years.

Nydia earned the Outstanding Clinician Award during her dental hygiene studies. She is certified in Pit and Fissure Sealant Application and is authorized to monitor Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen inhalation conscious sedation. She is also CPR certified by the American Heart Association.
Personal
Nydia enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and children. On weekends, she loves getting together with friends and staying active through exercise. Nydia also serves on the WBCA Board of Directors and the Board of the Society of Martha Washington.
